The strength of our business would not be possible without a disciplined operational strategy, efficient, strategically located plants, and most importantly, a talented and dedicated team. At REX American Resources (“REX”), we’re committed to safeguarding our natural resources and
helping to protect the environment. Toward this goal, we foster a culture of environmental excellence throughout our organization by meeting or exceeding environmental regulations; implementing environmentally sound policies; and engaging with customers, suppliers and communities on environmental impacts and opportunities for improvement. Across our operations, we are taking action to build on our existing corporate, social responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives to further expand our company-wide efforts in caring for our team members, our guests, our communities and our environment. In addition, as a responsible corporate citizen, we’re committed to being a trusted and valued member of our communities and a vigilant steward of our finite natural resources.

This sustainability report outlines REX’s operational efficiencies and several of the key areas of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance. The data within this report pertains to REX’s two majority-owned subsidiaries that produce and sell ethanol, distillers grains and non-food grade corn oil. Ethanol can significantly decrease consumption of fossil fuel while reducing our nation’s reliance on foreign produced oil. While the environmental data included hereing does not include REX’s corporate office, we also strive for environmental excellence in this setting and believe our office operations have a very limited, if any, carbon impact.

Our two majority owned plants have the capacity to produce a total of approximately 300 million gallons of ethanol annually. Both of these facilities are located in the corn-belt and support local farmers and cooperatives and bring major economic benefits to the local communities. In addition, we purposefully located our plants in close proximity to major railroads and trucking, thus reducing transportation and fuel consumption.
